Sealed Bids will be received in the Purchasing Department, 2nd floor of the Rapides Parish School Board Office Building, 619 Sixth Street, Alexandria, Louisiana 71301 until 11:00 am on Friday, August 25, 2023 for the
     
“LEASE OF 435 ACRES OF SCHOOL BOARD PROPERTY”
(SEALED BID NO 24-50) 
 
After stamping to acknowledge timely receipt, the bids will be publicly opened and read by the Executive Committee and/or staff of the Rapides Parish School Board.  Sole responsibility for proper delivery of bid is that of the bidder.  Any offer received after closing time (11:00 am, Friday, August 25, 2023) will be returned unopened.
 
Specifications and bid forms, may be obtained from the Rapides Parish School Board Purchasing Department located at 619 Sixth Street, Alexandria, LA  71301, by emailing your request to [email protected], or sending your written request to P. O. Box 7117, Alexandria, Louisiana 71306.  Specifications and bid forms are also available at www.centralbidding.com; fees may be associated with the use of this site.
 
The 435 acres of Rapides Parish School Board property that is available to lease is located in Section 16, T5NR3E lying west of Big Saline Bayou.  A plat of this property is provided with the bid specifications.
 
The Board will not consider bids on bid forms other than those provided by the Rapides Parish School Board Office.  All bids must be accompanied by an original bid security in the amount of 10% of the bid and must be in the form of a Money Order, Certified Check or Cashier’s Check  made payable to Rapides Parish School Board. Bid Security shall be forfeited in the event the successful bidder fails to perform in accord with the lease.
 
Award will not be made on the date of the bid opening, but will be awarded by the School Board at a later meeting
 
Subject to the provisions of R.S. 38:221, et seq., the Rapides Parish School Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids for just cause.
 
Bids may be submitted electronically at www.centralbidding.com, hand delivered by bidder or his agent with deliverer receiving a written receipt, or sent by registered mail or certified mail with a return receipt requested.  Bids hand delivered or sent by mail must be in sealed envelope clearly marked with the bidder’s name and “Leasing of 435 Acres of School Board Property” (Bid No. 24-50) and delivered to:
