Requests for Qualifications for Architectural and Engineering Services
The Picayune School District is seeking requests for qualifications for architectural and engineering services for the construction of an outdoor classroom , renovation of Head Start playgrounds, and reroffing at Head Start facilities. Written proposals will be received at the Office of the Superintendent, Picayune School District, 706 Goodyear Blvd., Picayune, Ms 39466. Proposals will be received until 12:00 noon September 1, 2021. Indicate “PROPOSAL FOR ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES” on the outside of the envelope. The Picayune School District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, and to evaluate the qualifications in the proposal that is most beneficial to the district. The Picayune School District is seeking Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) for architectural
and engineering services related to the following projects:
*Outdoor Classroom
Picayune School District would like to construct a metal open frame outdoor classroom
approximately 100’ by 60’ on one of our elementary campuses. This would be a turn key
job.
+Head Start Playgrounds
Picayune facility will require labor and materials to demolish and dispose of existing
playground structures, borders, and EWF (3 areas total) and existing shade frames (2
total). And labor and materials to install all specified play equipment and site furnishings
in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. Also installation of poured in place
safety surfacing -- 50% Standard color/50% Black EPDM- Natural Rolled Edge- 4”
Crushed Stone Compact Stone Subbase.
Poplarville facility will require labor and materials to demolish and dispose of existing
playground structures, borders, and EWF (1 area) and existing Spring Rider See Saw.
And labor and materials to install all specified play equipment and site furnishings in
accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. Also installation of poured in place safety
surfacing --50% Standard color/50% Black EPDM- Natural Rolled Edge- 4” Crushed Stone
Compact Stone Subbase.
+ Reroof Picayune Head Start building in Picayune, MS. Reroof Poplarville Head Start Building in
Poplarville, MS.
Responses shall be mailed to Picayune School District, 706 Goodyear Blvd., Picayune, MS
39466 no later than 12:00 p.m. September 1, 2021.
Note: *The federally funded project must comply with the Davis Bacon Act and be
completed on or before September 30, 2023.
+ The federally funded Head Start project must comply with the Davis Bacon Act and be
completed on or before March 31, 2023.
In your submittal, please include the following:
1. Firm background and history.
2. Qualifications, including resumes of team members and any sub-consultants in the
area of the projects described above.
3. Examples of experience with relevant and federally funded projects.
4. Certification that your firm or members of your firm have not been disbarred,
suspended, or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation in federal assistance
programs or activities.
If selected, the firm will be required to provide proof of insurance, IRS Form W-9, and
certify other federal and state requirements upon execution of a contractual agreement.
Following evaluation of the proposals, Picayune School District may conduct interviews
and may request additional information from one or more architect.
Picayune School District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, and to
evaluate the qualifications in the proposal that is most beneficial to the district.
