Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Board of Supervisors of Union County, Chancery Clerk’s office, 109 E. Main St., New Albany, MS until 10:00 A.M. local time, September 26, 2022 and shortly thereafter publicly opened and read aloud in the Board of Supervisors Board Room for:

TO LEVEL & OVERLAY
Union County Road 1
Union County, Mississippi
 
The scope of work is: to furnish equipment and labor to install hot mix asphalt leveling and overlay using County furnished Hot Mix Asphalt for approximately 1.6 miles on CR 1 in Union County. 
 
Contract time is 45 Working Days. Contractor shall commence work on or before a date to be stipulated in the Notice to Proceed.
 
Bid preparation will be in accordance with Section 00200 – Instructions to Bidders bound in the Project Manual.  Project Plans and Project Manual may be examined at Elliott & Britt Engineering, P.A., 823 North Lamar Blvd./P.O. Box 308, Oxford, Mississippi 38655.
 
Bid documents are being made available at Elliott & Britt Engineering, P.A.  All plan-holders are required to have a valid email address.  Bid documents are non-refundable and may be purchased either through Elliott & Britt Engineering, P.A.. or www.centralbidding.com.  Official bid documents can be downloaded at www.centralbidding.com.  Electronic bids may be submitted at www.centralbidding.com.  For any questions relating to the electronic bidding process, please call Central Bidding at 225-810-4814.   
 
Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained by depositing $50.00 with Elliott & Britt Engineering, P.O. Box 308, Oxford, Mississippi 38655, telephone (662) 234-1763 for each set of documents so obtained. This deposit is nonrefundable. 
The contract will be awarded to the lowest and/or best bid from a responsive responsible and qualified Bidder.  Should no award be made within forty-five (45) calendar days after opening of proposals, all proposals may be rejected and all proposal guaranties returned, unless the lowest responsive responsible qualified bidder at the request of Union County agrees in writing to a longer delay.
 
No Bid bond is required to bid.  However, any bid over $50,000.00 must have a current Mississippi Certificate of Responsibility.  The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a 100% Payment and Performance Bond upon execution of the Contract.
 
Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal that is submitted as a stripped bid will be considered an irregular bid and such proposal will not be considered in making the award.  The Union County, Mississippi Board of Supervisors reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to reject any and all bids if considered not in the best interest of Union County, MS.
 
Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid, and such proposals may not be considered in making the award.  Union County reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to reject any and all bids if considered not in the best interest of Union County.
