Sealed Proposals for furnishing all labor and materials as required by the drawings and specifications for the Mannsdale Sixth Grade School will be received by Madison County Schools in care of W.G. Yates & Sons Construction, 476 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, Mississippi, 39157, on the twentieth (20th) day of July 2021 until 2:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
 
Contract Documents are available for viewing and purchase at www.jhharchitectsplans.com via paper or electronic copy. Documents are non-refundable and no partial set of documents will be issued. In addition, Contract Documents can be downloaded from Central Bidding at www.centralbidding.com or by calling (225) 810-4814.
 
Proposals must be submitted on the form as shown in the specifications and must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond, Certified Check or Cashier’s Check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid and as required by the Contract Documents. Such security is to be forfeited as liquidated damages, not penalty, by any bidder who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute a contract and post. Performance and Payment Bonds in the form and amount within the time specified. The Bid Bond, if used, shall be payable to the Owner.
 
Electronic bids can also be submitted in lieu or sealed bid at www.centralbidding.com. For any questions relating to the electronic bidding process, please call Central Bidding at (225) 810-4814. Electronic bids are not required by the Madison County Schools but offered as another means to submit a bid.
 
A pre-bid conference will be held June 30, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Madison County School District Office, 476 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, Mississippi 39157
 
The Contract or Contracts will be awarded to the lowest acceptable bidder, except that the Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities and the Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The Owner reserves the right to hold all bids for examination for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days and to award the Contract based on the best bid. All Bids shall be in compliance and subject to Sections 31-3-15 and 31-3-21 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 as annotated and amended, and in all case law pertaining thereto.
