Advertisement for Bids                  
Notice is hereby given that a sealed bid will be received by the Lafayette Parish School System by the Purchasing Department located at 202 Rue Iberville Lafayette, LA 70508 for the following as delineated on the Proposal Form:
 
Bids will be marked as follows:
 
                        Air Conditioning Retrofit on School Buses
                        Bid# 33-24
                        Opening:  October 4, 2023 @ 11:00 am CST
 
The bid #33-24 to obtain competitive bids for the estimated cost for retrofitting air conditioning on approximately 114 school board buses for the Lafayette Parish School System, in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications contained herein. The bid shall include a detailed quote with pricing offered for each of your recommended air conditioning (A/C) systems whether rooftop or inside the bus that fall under the Louisiana State specifications for School Buses. These specs should influence the number of Air Conditioning units installed depending on the size of the bus. The pricing shall also include labor cost involved and a yearly maintenance cost breakdown to upkeep the units. Bid responses shall also include all warranty packages offered for their product. Additionally, the responses shall include Diagrams of how the offered systems will be located and installed that include the exact interior and exterior positions of all blowers, compressors, condensers, expansion valves, evaporators, generators, hoses, line layout, compressors, condensers, expansion valves, evaporators, generators, hoses, line layout, wiring, and etc.
 
Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the above stated time and date in a LPSS Conference Room of the District Office Building.
 
Complete bidding documents may be obtained on the Purchasing Department website at https://www.lpssonline.com/departments/business-services/purchasing under ‘Bid Specifications’.  Bid information may also be viewed online, and electronic bids may be submitted online at www.centralauctionhouse.com.  Specifications will be available Friday, September 15, 2023.
 
The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause.  In accordance with LA. R.S. 38:2212 (a)(1)(b), the provisions and requirements of this section, those stated in the Advertisement for Bids, and those required on the bid form shall not be waived by any public entity.
 
The Lafayette Public School System strongly encourages the participation of minority business enterprises in all contracts or procurements let by the Board for goods and services.  To that end, all contractors and suppliers are encouraged to utilize minority business enterprises in the purchase of sub-contracting of materials, supplies, and services in which minority owned businesses are available.
