INVITATION FOR BIDS
 
NOTICE is hereby given that the CITY OF FLOWOOD, MS (herein called the Owner) will receive written, sealed bids until the hour of 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the office of the City Clerk in Flowood City Hall located at 2101 Airport Road, Flowood, MS 39232, for the furnishing of all labor and materials and for the construction of that certain project designated as:
 
LAURELWOOD DETENTION BASIN
 
Drawings and Specifications being on file at the office of the City Clerk at Flowood City Hall located at 2101 Airport Road, Flowood, MS 39232.
 
The project scope is to re-route an existing ditch into a new detention basin using storm drain piping and open ditch excavation.  The work required will include but not be limited to: clearing & grubbing, grading, storm drain, erosion control, and paved surfaces removal and repair, and all other work required as shown on the Construction Plans and in the Contract Documents and Specifications.
 
A Pre-Bid Conference will be conducted on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. local time in the Board Room of the City of Flowood at the above listed address.  Attendance by a principal, project manager or estimator of any prospective bidder is recommended but not required.
 
Bids shall be submitted in one of the following manners:  1) Paper Form, in duplicate, to the office of the City Clerk in Flowood City Hall located at 2101 Airport Road, Flowood, MS 39232 in a sealed envelope designated as “Bid For: LAURELWOOD DETENTION BASIN”.  The outside of said envelope shall bear the Bidder’s Name, and Certificate of Responsibility Number and shall be Addressed to: The Honorable Mayor and Board of Alderman, City of Flowood, 2101 Airport Road, Flowood, MS 39232; or, 2) Electronically at www.centralbidding.com.
 
The total Contract Time will be 160 consecutive calendar days with liquidated damages at $500.00 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.
 
Copies of the plans and specifications, together with contract documents, may be obtained from the office of Benchmark Engineering & Surveying, LLC, 660 Katherine Dr., Suite 302 upon payment of $150 for each set, none of which is refundable.
 
Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany each bid in accordance with the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.
 
Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material and/or supply needs.

No prospective CONTRACTOR may withdraw his proposal within SIXTY (60) DAYS after the actual date of the opening thereof.
 
The CITY OF FLOWOOD reserves the right to waive any information or irregularities or to reject any or all bids.
 
Award will be made to lowest and best bidder as determined by the Owner.
