ADDITIONS AND RENOVATIONS

Separate sealed bids for ALEXANDRIA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ADDITIONS AND RENOVATIONS (RPSB Bid #62-24-19) will be received by the RAPIDES PARISH SCHOOL BOARD at the PURCHASING DEPARTMENT, 619 SIXTH STREET, ALEXANDRIA, LOUISIANA 71301, until 11:00 A.M. (Central Time), on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.  Any bid received after the specified time and date will not be considered. 
 
The Instructions to Bidders, Bid Form, Agreement Between Owner and Contractor, Forms of Bid Bond, Performance and Payment Bonds, Drawings and Specifications, and other Contract Documents may be examined at the following location:

The Scope of Work includes one (1) Project consisting of four (4) sub-projects as follows:
 
Classroom Addition: Two-story, steel-framed, spray-on fireproofing, drilled concrete shaft foundation. Tornado shelter at first floor portion of addition, with reinforced CMU wall construction, along with two single-use restrooms, classrooms. Classrooms, seminar rooms, egress stair, two single-use restrooms at second floor portion. Sprinkler system protects second floor and first floor portions of the addition. Two-hour fire-rated separation wall between new addition and existing school.
New Fieldhouse: Single-story, steel framed, drilled concrete shaft foundation. CMU and metal panel siding wall construction. Meeting Room, locker rooms, restrooms, showers, storage, offices. Central hallway with clearstory windows. Covered porch.
Renovated Fieldhouse: Certain amount of interior demolition of walls, HVAC system, plumbing and lighting. CMU interior wall construction. One-hour fire-rated roof-ceiling separation. Roof replacement, TPO system. Replace HVAC system, lighting, plumbing; add plumbing fixtures.
School Renovations: New location for Health Center. Add two Classrooms; renovate Library. Replace all exterior storefront entrance doors; coordinate access control at specific locations. Remodel and expand all existing restrooms, replace all plumbing fixtures and increase count.
 
Copies of the bidding documents shall be obtained from the office of Ashe-Broussard-Weinzettle Architects, LLP – Tipton Associates, APAC (A Joint Venture) upon deposit of $825.00 for each set of documents; or from the electronic bid submittal option as noted in the advertisement.  The deposit on the first set of documents furnished to bonafide prime bidders will be fully refunded upon return of the documents, in good condition, no later than ten (10) days after receipt of bids.  On other sets of documents furnished to bidders, the deposit less actual cost of reproduction will be refunded upon return of the documents, in good condition, no later than ten (10) days after receipt of bids.
 
PDF files are available from the Architect’s office at no cost.
 
Pursuant to L.R.S. 38:2212.E.(1) Bidders have the option to submit bids and bid bonds electronically.  Electronic bids for this project may be submitted through Central Bidding at www.CentralAuctionHouse.com. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids for just cause. Such actions will be in accordance with Title 38 of the L.R.S.
 
A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024 at the Front Office, Alexandria Senior High School, 800 Ola Street, Alexandria, Louisiana. Attendance at this conference is not mandatory, but strongly encouraged.
 
In accordance with R.S. 38:2212(B)(1), the provisions and requirements stated in the bidding documents shall not be considered as informalities and shall not be waived.
 
Each Bidder must deposit with the bid, security in the amount of at least five percent (5%) of the total bid price, as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Bid bonds shall be written by a surety or insurance company meeting the requirements noted in L.R.S. 38:2218.
 
The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract amount, written by a surety or insurance company meeting the requirements noted in L.R.S. 38:2219 A. (1)(a), (b) and (c).
