REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
Sealed Bids will be received by the Morehouse Parish School Board, 4099 Naff Street,
Bastrop, Louisiana 71220 until 3:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2016 at which time and place all
bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for the following project:
A NEW CLASSROOM BUILDING ADDITION FOR:
BEEKMAN CHARTER SCHOOL
15190 A. M. Baker Road
Bastrop, Louisiana 71220
Printed copies are available to Contractors from the Morehouse Parish School Board, and
Taylor-Wallace Designs, Inc., 441 Point Place Road, Downsville, LA, phone 318-396-2197. Bid
documents are also available from the architect in electronic form. The Contractors may also
receive plans by logging on to www.centralauctionhouse.com .
Bidders shall have the option to submit electronic Bid Packages by using the services
at www.centralauctionhouse.com .
All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five (5%) of the base bid, and
must be in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check or bid bond written by a company
licensed to do business in Louisiana, countersigned by a person who is under contract with the
surety company or bond issuer as a licensed agent in this state and who is residing in this state.
No Bid Bond indicating an obligation of less than five percent (5%) by any method is acceptable.
The cost estimate is $850,000.00.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond
written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana, and shall be countersigned by a
person who is contracted with the surety company or bond issuer as agent of the company or
issuer, and who is licensed as an insurance agent in this State, and who is residing in this state, in
an amount equal to the 100% of the contract amount.
Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed under LA R.S. 37:2151-2163
for the classification of Building Construction. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of fortyfive
(45) days after receipt of bids per Louisiana Revised Statue 38:2215(A).
The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
