Sealed Bids will be received in the Purchasing Department of the Rapides Parish School Board, 619 Sixth Street, Alexandria, Louisiana 71301 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 6, 2023 for:
SALE OF PROPERTY – 1225 WINDSOR PLACE ALEXANDRIA, LA
SEALED BID NO. 24-18
After stamping to acknowledge timely receipt, the sealed bids will be publicly opened and read by the Executive Committee and/or staff of the Rapides Parish School Board. Sole responsibility for the proper delivery of bid is that of the bidder. Any offer received after closing time (2:00 P.M., July 6, 2023) will be returned unopened.
The Property may be viewed at 1225 Windsor Place, Alexandria, Louisiana 71303. Said property is described as: A certain piece, parcel, or tract of land containing 1.823 acres, together with all buildings and improvements located thereon, and all rights, ways, and privileges thereunto appertaining, being, lying, and situated in Sections 30, 31, 43, and 84, Township 4 North, Range 1 West, Alexandria, Rapides Parish, Louisiana and more particularly described as follows:
From the corner of Dorchester Drive and Heyman Lane and the corner of the property marked Williamsburg Apts. On the hereinafter mentioned Certificate of Survey, go South 19 degrees, 25 minutes West 158.85 feet; thence go South 24 degrees 31 minutes West 160.02 feet; thence go South 26 degrees 56 minutes West 218.7 feet to establish the point of beginning;
Thence continue the same course 148 feet; thence go South 22 degrees 39 minutes West 120 feet; then go South 63 degrees 14 minutes East 284.87 feet; thence go North 28 degrees 49 minutes East 266.64 feet; thence go North 61 degrees 11 minutes West 62.6 feet; thence go North 63 degrees 29 minutes West 240.0 feet back to the point of beginning as per Certificate of Survey by Daniel D. Sandefur dated April 27, 1968, a copy of which is recorded in Conveyance Book 175, page 143, records of Rapides Parish, Louisiana.
The Property will be sold “as is where is” through the sealed bid process with warranty of title only. The Board will not consider bids on bid forms other than those provided by the Rapides Parish School Board. All bids must be accompanied by an original bid security in the amount of $5,000.00 and must be in the form of a Money Order, Certified Check Bid Bond or Cashier’s Check made payable to Rapides Parish School Board. Bid Security shall be forfeited in the event the successful bidder fails to close in accord with stated time constraints. The Rapides Parish School Board reserved the right to reject any or all bids and all bids shall be rejected in the event the highest bid is not equal to the appraised value of the property.
