Sealed bids are requested by Central Community School Board from general contractors for construction of:
PROJECT NAME: Central High School Phase II Renovations
Bids will be received at the Central Community School Board, Attention: W. Ross Bogan, Construction Coordinator, 13421 Hooper Road, Suite 6, City of Central, LA 70818, until:
2:00 PM, LOCAL TIME, April 20, 2011
at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bidders have the option to submit their bids electronically by using Central Auction House. Central Auction House can be found by going to the Central Community School System website and clicking on the Central Auction House link or going directly to their site at www.CENTRALAUCTIONHOUSE.com.
Complete Bidding Documents for this project are available in electronic form. They may be obtained from www.archittrek.com. All interested bidders must register for the project online at www.archittrek.com. Registered bidders will be able to download, print all bidding documents and have access to plan holders list via this site. Printed copies are not available from the Designers.

The successful Bidder is required to be substantially complete with the work by no later than August 1, 2011. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $5000.00 for each consecutive calendar day for which the work is not substantially complete and $5000.00 for each consecutive calendar day for which all of the work listed on the punch list is not complete (past 45 calendar days).
Bids must be accompanied by a bid security equal to 5 percent of the base bid and all additive alternates in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check, or bid bond written by a Surety licensed to do business in Louisiana. Surety must be in compliance with the provisions of La. R.S. 38:2219.
A MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the office of W. Ross Bogan, Construction Coordinator, 13421 Hooper Road, Suite 6, City of Central, LA 70818. The Pre-Bid conference will also include a site visit to the site. Attendance at the site visit is mandatory as well.
Attendance at this Pre-bid Conference is mandatory and bidders must be seated prior to 10:00 a.m. in order to submit a bid.
Contract, if awarded, will be on the basis stated in the Instructions to Bidders. The non-collusion affidavit, insurance certificates, and other requirements must be hand delivered by the apparent low bidder within 5 business days of the bid opening. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 45 days after bid opening except as provided by law in La. R.S. 38:2214 and 2215.
Bidders must meet the requirements of the State of Louisiana Contractor’s Licensing Law, R.S. 37:2151, et seq. Bidders are required to comply with the provisions and requirements of La. R.S. 38:2212(A)(1)(c).
Central Community School Board reserves the right to award the project on whatever basis is in the interest of the Owner and to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities.
