Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Vermilion Parish Police Jury at the Vermilion Parish Courthouse, Police Jury Meeting Room, at 100 N. State Street, Suite 200, Abbeville, Louisiana, 70510, or online at http://www.centralbidding.com until 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 12, 2013 for the following:

Vermilion Parish – Wind Retrofit
Hazard Mitigation Grant Program
Hardening of the
Vermilion Parish Government Office Complex
Abbeville, Louisiana
for the
Vermilion Parish Police Jury

and will thereafter, be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the above-specified time for opening shall not be considered and shall be returned unopened to the sender.

The work generally consists of the removal and replacement of existing flat built-up roof system with new SBS Modified Bitumen Insulated Roofing Systems together with all associated Flashing and Sheet Metal as well as the removal of existing sloped asphalt shingle roof and replacement with new Standing Seam Metal Roofing. Also included is the installation of new Hurricane Rated Aluminum Operable Shutters along with all required hardware and providing new Roll-Down Aluminum Overhead Shutters to protect existing ground and second floor entry units as noted on the Plans and Specifications.


Each bid shall be submitted only on the Bid Form included in the Specifications.

Information must be printed, hand entered, scanned and attached as a document to submit an online bid for this project. To submit a bid bond electronically, front and back of the bid bond must be scanned and submitted. Please pay special attention to the Instructions to Bidders, Article 4.03 Submission of Bids, in the Specifications.

Additional Notes/Requirements

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 9:00 AM, Friday, June 28, 2013. Attendance by all Interested General Contractors, Roofing Contractors, Roofing System Manufacturer Representatives, as well as Protective Shutter Contractors or Suppliers is highly encouraged. All parties shall meet at the exterior of the front entry of the Vermilion Parish Government Office Complex, 407 Charity Street, Abbeville, Louisiana.
