RFP: Paving Services

Project Overview:
Provide paving services for the location listed.
North Pike High School- 1022 Jaguar Trail, Summit MS 39666
Project: Prep and pave areas indicated by attached map (student parking lot and adjacent). Repairs as needed to existed pavement in area highlighted. Stripe all areas highlighted.
Alternate 1: Turning Lane. Prep and pave area highlighted on attached map. Stripe as required.
Alternate 2: Front parking addition. Prep and pave area highlighted on attached map. Stripe as required.
Project Goals:
Goal 1: Prep all areas to be paved or rehabbed using best industry practices.
Goal 2: Pave all areas highlighted using best industry practices.
Goal 3: Stripe all areas highlighted as needed and in accordance to School District guidance.
Goal 4: Ensure all excess materials are removed from property and areas surrounding project site is returned to prior construction condition.
Scope of Work:
Products utilized are to be industry standard and applied in accordance to product manufacturers and best practices by all governing bodies.
Project must be completed in a manner that minimizes school function. Preferred times to be after school hours, during designated holidays, weekends, or under terms that will not prevent normal school operations. Work performed during the normal school day must be coordinated with 3 days prior notice and as agreed by contractor and owner.
Maximum thickness of asphalt will be sufficient to provide a durable use surface that will accommodate daily traffic flow to include bus and occasional tractor trailer traffic. Minimum thickness will not be less than 2” and installed to consistent depth.
Areas to be repaired and resealed must be properly prepped. Damaged asphalt must be removed, proper substrate remediation performed, and asphalt repaired prior to resealing. Re-stripe according to owner layout.
Areas which have not be previously paved must be properly graded, leveled, and compacted to provide sturdy underlay. Gravel base should be installed in accordance industry standards prior to paving. Asphalt should be brought to grade in consideration of proper drainage and surface water management.
Re-striping will be performed in all areas that have been paved, overlaid, or resurfaced. Striping layout will be made in in accordance with owner specifications.
Current Roadblocks and Barriers to Success:
Project must be completed in a manner that will not prevent school operations.
Due to market fluctuations to material costs, pricing will be based on original contract plus increases due to material costs. Increases must not exceed actual increase of cost of material at the time of the purchase. Cost increases must be documented against project award costs. Cost increases are limited to period from award to project start. Any cost increases must be submitted prior to start of project.
In consideration of scheduling limitations, supply chain shortages, and labor challenges experienced industrywide, timeframes for start of project will not be fixed. After award of project, vendor will provide estimated time for project start. Reasonable consideration will be provided regarding delays to actual start time. Right of refusal of bid is preserved in consideration of estimated project timeframes. Similarly, other bids will be considered based on project start and completion dates.

Timely and complete fulfillment of contract.
Successful bidder must provide proof of liability insurance ($250,000 min), applicable certifications and licenses, worker’s compensation insurance.

Cost breakdown by project and alternates.
Submissions may be made online or directly to district contact.
Onsite inspection appointments may be set with district contract.
