Mr. Dorsa from Eiserloh, requested 2/1/12 for the acceptance of some samples of Tyson chicken bologna, chicken franks, and chicken smoke sausage coming to arrive at OPSO early next week. He will not have them before the bid opening Monday, and was wondering if the distributors could quote Tyson as an alternate until you have a chance to try these products. The OPSO response concerning this situation is as such. The on page 5 of the terms and conditions of our bid, it states that samples should be received by the OPSO no less than 72 hours before the bid is opened. However, I have no problems with the companies quoting the Tyson brand as an ALTERNATIVE item. The samples must arrive before noon on tuesday (2/7/12)at the OPSO facility in order to be accepted for this bid cycle. I do not guarantee that these items will be considered acceptable by the OPSO, so I would be prepared with an alternative item for the bid opening. Also, if price-wise these items are the same for a distributor, only one item will receive the bid award and the OPSO will not accept two items at the same price.
