Notice is hereby given that bids will be received by the City of Carthage until 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the Carthage City Hall, 212 Main Street, Carthage, MS 39051, for the furnishing of all labor and materials and for the construction of that certain project designated as “POTW Equalization Basin & Lagoon Improvements”.  Project Drawings and Specifications are on file and can be viewed at Carthage City Hall, 212 Main Street, Carthage, MS 39051 and Civil-Link, LLC, 276 Nissan Parkway, Building B, Suite 300, Canton, MS 39046.
 
Sealed bids will then be publicly read aloud in the City of Carthage City Hall Board Room.  All sealed bids submitted shall be marked on the outside face of the envelope “Bid: “POTW Equalization Basin & Lagoon Improvements” and shall have the bidder’s Certificate of Responsibility Number written on the outside of the envelope.  If any envelope is not so marked, said bid shall not be opened or considered.
 
Bids are for construction of an equalization basin at the City of Carthage POTW (Sewage Lagoon) and improvements to the existing lagoon levee system.  Work shall include, but not be limited to, clearing & grubbing, earthwork & grading, construction of concrete spillway, installation of 8” gravity sewer outfall piping & manholes, and repairs & armoring of existing lagoon levees.
 
The total Contract Time will be 150 consecutive calendar days and the liquidated damages will be $500.00 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.
 
A MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE CITY OF CARTHAGE CITY HALL BOARD ROOM (212 MAIN STREET, CARTHAGE, MS 39051), AT 10:00 A.M. ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 18, 2022.
 
Copies of the drawings and specifications, together with contract documents, may be obtained from the office of Civil Link, LLC, 276 Nissan Pkwy, Building B, Suite 300, Canton, MS 39046 Telephone No. 601-499-1724, upon payment of $100.00 for each set, none of which is refundable.
All bids submitted in excess of $50,000 by a Prime or Subcontractor to do any erection, building, construction, repair, maintenance, or related work must be in compliance with and subject to Sections 31-3-15 and 31-3-21 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 as annotated and amended, and in all case law pertaining thereto.
Award will be made to the lowest and best bidder and the City of Carthage Board of Alderman reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any and all informalities.
