Separate written sealed BIDS for a General Contract for the furnishing of all labor and materials for the construction of:
 
2025 Simpson County Asphalt Pre-Leveling Project
 
will be received by the SIMPSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS herein after called the OWNER either online at www.centralbidding.com or at the office of the:
 
CHANCERY COURT BUILDING
111 WEST PINE AVENUE
MENDENHALL, MS
 
Until 9:30am local time on December 20th, 2024 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud for supplying all labor, equipment and materials necessary for completion of the
 
2025 County Road Asphalt Pre-Leveling Project
 
Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi State Law and show Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors.
Project scope includes, but is not limited to, laying pre-leveling asphalt (Owner Provided Asphalt) in various locations along approximately 28 miles of County roadway.  All other related items of work required to complete the project as shown and specified in the plans and contract documents.
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS are on file in the Office of the Chancery Clerk of Simpson County; the Office of Greg Bonds, the County Engineer, 660 Katherine Drive, Suite 302, Flowood, MS 39232; or can be viewed and are available for download at www.centralbidding.com.  Sealed bids shall be submitted in person as required or on-line at www.centralbidding.com. This project shall be constructed in accordance with plan, specifications & contract documents.
 
Hard Copies of the BIDDING DOCUMENTS may be obtained at BENCHMARK ENGINEERING upon payment of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($100) per set – none of which is refundable.  No partial documents will be issued.
 
Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany each bid in accordance with the INTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.  Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds, Payment Bonds or Performance Bonds must file with each bond a certified and effective dated copy of their Power of Attorney.
 
No prospective CONTRACTOR may withdraw his proposal within SIXTY (60) DAYS after the actual date of the opening thereof.
 
Each bidder shall write the Certificate of Responsibility number and Mississippi Contractors License number on the outside of the sealed envelope containing his proposal. Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate, sealed and deposited with the Chancery Clerk prior to the hour and date designated above. 
 
 
The SIMPSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS reserves the right to waive any information or irregularities, to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the County, or to reject any or all bids.
 
The Contract Time is One Hundred (100) consecutive calendar days with liquidated damages being Five Hundred Dollars ($500) per calendar day thereafter.
