INVITATION FOR BIDS
 
NOTICE is hereby given that the CITY OF FLOWOOD, MS (herein called the Owner) will receive written, sealed bids until the hour of 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the office of the City Clerk in Flowood City Hall located at 2101 Airport Road, Flowood, MS 39232, for the furnishing of all labor and materials and for the construction of that certain project designated as:
 
MACKENZIE LANE @ EAST METRO PARKWAY INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS
 
Drawings and Specifications being on file at the office of the City Clerk at Flowood City Hall located at 2101 Airport Road, Flowood, MS 39232.
 
The project scope is to widen Mackenzie Lane where it intersects East Metro Parkway to provide for additional turn and through lanes for eastbound and westbound traffic.  Additionally, the project includes increasing the length of the dedicated southbound left turn lane off of East Metro Parkway onto Mackenzie Lane.  The work required will include but not be limited to: demolition, earthwork, curb & gutter installation, erosion control, milling and overlay, new pavement sections, modification to existing traffic signal mast arms and controls, traffic control, striping and other incidentals.
 
A Pre-Bid Conference will be conducted on Tuesday, April 26, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. local time in the Board Room of the City of Flowood at the above listed address.  Attendance by a principal, project manager or estimator of any prospective bidder is recommended but not required.
 
The total Contract Time will be 90 consecutive calendar days with liquidated damages at $500.00 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.
 
Copies of the plans and specifications, together with contract documents, may be obtained from the office of Benchmark Engineering & Surveying, LLC, 660 Katherine Dr., Suite 302 upon payment of $200 for each set, none of which is refundable.
 
Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany each bid in accordance with the INTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.
 
No prospective CONTRACTOR may withdraw his proposal within SIXTY (60) DAYS after the actual date of the opening thereof.
 
The CITY OF FLOWOOD reserves the right to waive any information or irregularities or to reject any or all bids.
 
Award will be made to lowest and best bidder as determined by the Owner.
