Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the Nation's leader in wetland conservation, is seeking bids for the McFaddin NWR – Perkins and White’s Levee Restoration Project.  We are having a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site showing to interested contractors from our bidders list at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11th. We will at the intersection of Clam Lake Road and Perkins Levee, south of the GIWW on McFaddin NWR, Chambers County, TX 77990 (29°41'21"N; 94°09'28"W). Contractors interested in seeing the entirety of the project area should bring an ATV or UTV to facilitate their access.
 
The Perkins Levee Restoration portion of this project generally consists of the recapping/restoration of 15,712 linear feet of existing levee, the supply and installation of 5-48” corrugated aluminum pipes (85 linear feet) with 5-72” Aluminum risers and 204 L.F. of vinyl sheet pile bulkhead for a single water control structure located on McFaddin NWR – Perkins Levee. The White’s Levee Restoration portion of this project generally consists of the recapping/restoration of 18,938 linear feet of existing levee and the supply and installation of 1-36” Culvert (47 linear feet of corrugated aluminum pipe to replace existing culvert in place) located on McFaddin NWR – White’s Levee. This work shall also include performing the necessary mobilization, site preparation, excavation, water control, pollution control, seeding, and other items outlined in the plans and specifications or associated with constructing the project according to the plans and specifications. The Contractor shall be responsible for any necessary pollution control measures. The unit price bid for the project shall be payment in full for supplying all materials, equipment, labor and any other necessary incidental items necessary for performing all operations described herein. Unit prices for both Perkins Levee Restoration and White’s Levee Restoration are required as part of the base bid of this contract. Contract completion time is 120 calendar days
