Advertisement for Bids
The St. Mary Parish Government, acting through its Parish President, David Hanagriff, will receive sealed bids for the “Proposed Timber Fishing Pier at Burns Point Recreational Area” Project, which includes the construction of approximately 250 linear feet of fishing pier and other related work, at the Fifth Floor – Courthouse Building, Franklin, Louisiana 70538, until June 12, 2018, at 10:00 A.M., local time at which time and place, they will be publicly opened and readaloud. Any bids received after the above-mentioned time will be returned unopened. Official bid documents can be downloaded from Central Bidding at www.centralbidding.com. The Information for Bidders, Form of Bid Proposal, Form of Contract, Plans, Specifications and other pertinent documents may be examined at the following locations:
• Miller Engineers & Associates, Inc., 601 Main Street, Franklin, Louisiana.
• St. Mary Parish Government Courthouse Building – Fifth Floor, Franklin, Louisiana.
In accordance with R.S. 38:2212(A)(3), the first publication of the advertisement shall not occur on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday. The advertisement shall be published once a week for three different weeks in a newspaper in the locality, and the first advertisement shall appear at least twenty-five days before the opening bids. Therefore, bids should be received no earlier than the 26th day.
Copies of Plans and Specifications may be obtained from the office of Miller Engineers and Associates, Inc. upon receipt of $80.00. In accordance with R.S. 38.2212A(1)(e), deposits on the first set of documents furnished bona fide prime bidders will be fully refunded upon return of the documents, deposits on any additional sets will be refunded less the actual cost of reproduction. Refunds will be made upon return of the documents unmarked and in good condition if within ten days after receipt of bids.
To qualify to bid, each bidder shall be a properly licensed Contractor in accordance with La. R.S. 37: 2150-2163 for the classification of HEAVY CONSTRUCTION or related classification. Contractors desiring to bid shall submit evidence that they hold license of proper classification that is effective at the time the bidding documents are requested.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids in accordance with Title 38 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes.
Each bidder must deposit with his/her bid security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. Sureties used for obtaining bonds must appear as acceptable on the U.S. Department of Treasury Circular 570.
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within forty-five (45) calendar days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
