Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the Nation's leader in wetland conservation, is seeking bids for the J.D. Murphree WMA – Compartments 1-4 Rehabilitation Project.  We are having a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site showing to interested contractors from our bidders list at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18th, 2023. We will meet at the J.D. Murphree WMA check station located at 10 Parks and Wildlife Dr, Port Arthur, TX 77640 (29°53'14.34"N, 94°2'3.82"W). Contractors are strongly encouraged to bring an airboat to facilitate viewing the entirety of the project area.
 
The project base bid generally consists of the rehabilitation of four wetland units totaling 67,225 linear feet of ditch cleanout, 58,075 linear feet of levee recapping, and 80.2 acres of seeding. This work shall also include performing the necessary mobilization, site preparation, clearing and other items outlined in the plans or associated with constructing the project according to the plans. The mandatory Additive Bid Alternate #1 generally consists of the installation of a pump pad including 22 C.Y.-P of excavation, 9.5 C.Y.-P of cast in place concrete, 25 tons of 12” rock rip rap, 4.75 tons of AASHTO #57 stone, and 128 S.F.-P of Articulated Concrete Block Mattress. The Contractor shall be responsible for any necessary pollution control measures. The unit price bid for the project shall be payment in full for supplying all materials, equipment, labor and any other necessary incidental items necessary for performing all operations described herein.
