Sealed bids for the construction of:
 
TENNIS COMPLEX GRADING, DRAINAGE, & EROSION CONTROL
Southwest Mississippi Community College
Summit, Mississippi
 
will be received at the office of the Vice President of Physical Resources in the Administration Building, 1156 College Drive, Summit, Mississippi until 10:00 am, C.D.T., Thursday, October 5, 2023 and thereafter opened and publicly read. 
Bids shall be submitted on the forms S-1 and S-2 included in the contract documents and specifications provided by the college.  No bid may be withdrawn for 30 days after the actual date of the bid opening.
Bids for this project will not require surety. 
All bids must comply with applicable state laws of the State of Mississippi and shall include Contractor’s Certificate of Responsibility Number.  Each Bidder shall write his Certificate of Responsibility Number on the outside of the sealed envelope containing his proposal.  The contractor shall also supply general liability insurance coverage in the amount not less than $1 million dollars and Workmen’s Compensation Insurance within 25 days of the awarded contract.
Awarding public contracts to non-resident Bidders will be on the same basis as the non-resident bidder’s state awards contracts to Mississippi Contractors bidding under similar circumstances.  In order to ensure that Mississippi’s so-called Golden Rule is followed, state law requires a non-resident bidder to attach to his bid a copy of his resident state’s current laws pertaining to such state’s treatment of non-resident contractors.
Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate, sealed and deposited with Southwest Mississippi Community College prior to the hour and date hereinbefore designated.  Bidder’s name and address should be written on the outside of the sealed envelope and “TENNIS COMPLEX GRADING, DRAINAGE, AND EROSION CONTOL, Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 10:00 am.” should be printed in the lower left corner of the envelope.
The Owner reserves the right to waive any and/or all formalities or to reject any and/or all bids submitted.
