ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids will be received by the Evangeline Parish Police Jury_______ (herein referred to as “Owner” for the construction of the project described as follows:
BEACON GULLY ROAD DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
Proposals shall be addressed to the Evangeline Parish Police Jury_, and delivered to the _Evangeline Parish Police Jury Office_ located at _1008 W. LaSalle Street, Ville Platte, LA 70586_ not later than 2:00 p.m.., local time, on the 26th day of_April, 2016 at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids must be submitted on the proper bid form. Each bid shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope showing the name, address, and license number of the bidder. Any bid received after the specified time and date will not be considered.
The Bidding Documents (including construction drawings and specifications) may be examined at the Owner’s office located at 1008 W. LaSalle Street, Ville Platte, LA 70586 or at the office of the engineer, _J. Ronald Landreneau & Associates, Inc._, located at _801 West Main Street, Ville Platte, LA 70586_.
Copies of the bidding documents may be obtained at the engineer’s office located at 801 West Main Street, Ville Platte, LA 70586, upon deposit of $200.00__ for each complete set. Plans and specifications will be available until twenty-four (24) hours before the bid opening. In accordance with Louisiana R.S. 38:2212, deposits on the first set of documents furnished to bona fide prime bidders will be fully refunded upon return of the documents no later than ten (10) days after receipt of bids. On other sets of documents furnished to bidders, the deposit less the actual cost of reproduction will be refunded upon return of the documents no later than ten (10) days after receipt of bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause. Such actions shall be in accordance the Louisiana R.S. 38:2214.
The Owner requires that each bidder attach to his bid a certified check, cashier’s check, or bid bond equivalent to 5% of the total bid as evidence of good faith of the bidder. Sureties used for obtaining bonds must appear as acceptable on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Circular 570.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof except as provided by law.
The attention of bidders is called particularly to the requirements for conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract, Section 3, Segregated Facilities, Section 109, Executive Order 11246, and all applicable laws and regulations of the Federal government and State of Louisiana and bonding and insurance requirements.
Any person with disabilities requiring special accommodations must contact the Evangeline Parish Police Jury no later than seven (7) days prior to the bid opening.
This project consists of the removal and replacement of the drainage structure where
Beacon's Gully crosses Beacon Road in Evangeline Parish. The new structure is a reinforced
concrete box culvert. See attached plans and specifications.
