Sealed bids will be received by the East Carroll Parish School Board, 514 Third Street, Lake Providence, Louisiana until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 and read out loud for the following project:

A mandatory pre-bid conference for interested Contractors will be held a 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2012 at the Griffin Middle Academy, 1305 Charles D. Jones Boulevard, Lake Providence, LA. Bids shall only be accepted from General Contractors who attend this meeting.

All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the sum of the base bid and all alternates, and must be in the form of a certified check , cashier’s check or bid bond written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana, countersigned by a person who is licensed as an insurance agent in this State and who is residing in this state. No Bid Bond indicating an obligation of less than five percent (5%) by any method is acceptable. The Project Budget & Cost estimate is $600,000.

The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana, and shall be countersigned by a person who is contracted with the surety company or bond issuer as agent of the company or issuer, and who is licensed as an insurance agent in this state and who is residing in this State, in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount.

Only contractors licensed according to Contractor’s Licensing Law, R.S. 37:2151-2163, shall be considered if his bid is greater than $ 50,000.00 and shall show his license number on exterior of the bid envelope and above his signature or the signature of his duly authorized representative.

No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of bids per Louisiana Revised Statue 38:2215(A). This project shall be subject to Davis-Bacon Wage Determination and Buy American Provisions.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids in accordance with the bid law.
