DIVISION 00 - BIDDING REQUIREMENTS AND CONTRACTING REQUIREMENTS
SECTION 00050 - ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDSCity of Baker (herein referred to as the "Owner") hereby solicits sealed bids for the
HVAC - Baker Municipality Auditorium project described as follows:
STATEMENT OF WORK: Baker Municipal building is renovating the HVAC for the auditorium. The intent of this project is to demolish the two existing HVAC systems for the auditorium and provide new HVAC systems, ductwork, natural gas piping, refrigerant lines and an Energy Management/Temperature Control System provided and installed by the controls contractor for the HVAC systems being replaced. The system includes Direct Digital Temperature Controls (DDC) as specified herein and as shown on the drawings. All hardware, software, graphics and firmware points provided with the direct digital control system provided as part of this scope of work shall be displayed and controlled from the Central Workstation. All hardware and software required to communicate with the new equipment shall be furnished as part of this project. Where the existing facility has an existing BAS, the contractor shall ensure compatibility with new equipment/system and interconnect new controls as to allow for existing BAS to view new BAS graphics, inputs, setpoints, etc. The contractor shall be responsible for disconnecting and demolishing the existing conduit and conductors connected to HVAC units to be demolished by the Mechanical Contractor as shown on the Drawings, furnishing and installing disconnect switches for use within buildings, furnishing and installing electrical conduit and wiring required for connection of mechanical equipment furnished under other sections of these specifications, furnishing and installing duct mounted smoke detectors and connecting the detectors to the existing fire alarm system, and the installation of temporary construction power required by the General Contractor and Sub-Contractors during the construction period.

Sealed Bids shall be addressed to the City of Baker, and delivered to the City Hall at 3325 Groom Road, Baker, LA 70714 not later than 10:00a.m., on the 4th day of May 2023. Any bid received after the specified time and date will not be considered. The sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 10:00a.m. on the 4th day of May 2023, at the City Hall located at 3325 Groom Road, Baker, LA 70714.
A PRE-BID CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD:TIME & DATE: April 27th, at 10:00a.m.

Contractors submitting bids shall be licensed under LA R.S. 37:2150-2164,
Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Work. The bidder shall show his license number on the bid and on the sealed envelope submitting the bid.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause; such actions will be in accordance with Title 38 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes.
Each Bidder must have an active UEI Number, as verified on www.sam.gov, prior to the beginning of construction.
Each Bidder must deposit with his/her bid, security in the amount, form, and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. Sureties used for obtaining bonds must appear as acceptable on the U.S. Department of Treasury Circular 570.
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
The Contractor shall begin mobilization and procurement of materials within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
The Attention of Bidders is called particularly to the requirements for conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract, Section 3, Segregated Facilities, Executive Order 11246, and all applicable laws and regulations of the Federal government and State of Louisiana and bonding and insurance requirement.
