Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received at the office of Mader Engineering, Inc. located at 1245 S. College Dr. Bldg 1, Lafayette, Louisiana, 70503, or by electronic bid at www.centralbidding.com, until 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday the 31st day of May, 2017 for the “N Ave O Drainage Improvements (Installation of Drainage Structures)” project for the City of Crowley, and shall at that time and place be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the above specified time for opening shall not be considered and shall be returned unopened to the sender. The work shall generally consist of the following:
Removal of existing drainage structures and drainage pipe.
Installation of new concrete catch basins, concrete conflict boxes, and RPVCCP drainage pipe to be furnished by the City of Crowley.
Coordination with the City of Crowley Street Department regarding removal and replacement of concrete driveways.
Coordination with the City of Crowley Street Department regarding the construction of concrete collars.
Coordination with the City of Crowley Street Department regarding other aspects of drainage removal and installation.
The Information for Bidders, Form of Bid Proposal, Form of Contract, Plans, Specifications, and other contract documents may be examined at the office of Mader Engineering, Inc. located at 3909 West Congress St., Suite 101, Lafayette, LA 70506. Electronic copies (.pdf) may be obtained upon request at no charge. Should hard copies be needed, such copies may be obtained at this office upon deposit of $ 30.00 which amount constitutes the cost of reproduction and handling. Payment for hard copies shall be made to Mader Engineering, Inc. Deposits on the first set of documents furnished to bona fide prime bidders will be fully refunded upon return of the documents (in original condition) no later than ten days after receipt of bids. On other sets of documents furnished to bidders, the deposit less actual cost of reproduction will be refunded upon return of the documents (in original condition) no later than ten days after receipt of bids.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause. Such actions will be in accordance with Title 38 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes.
A Bid Bond is not required.
Performance and Payment Bonds will be required as stipulated in Section II (General Conditions) of the Specifications and Contract Documents.
Contractors or contracting firms submitting proposals in the amount of $50,000.00 or more shall certify that they are licensed contractors under Chapter 24 of Title 37 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 and show their license number on the front of the sealed envelope in which their proposal is enclosed. Contractors shall be licensed for the classification of Municipal and Public Works Construction. Proposals in the amount of $50,000.00 or more, not submitted in accordance with this requirement, shall be rejected and shall not be read. Additional information relative to licensing may be obtained from the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
