The Project consists of improvements to the Runway Safety Area (RSA) for Runway 11 at the Lafayette Regional Airport.  The primary improvement is the addition of an Engineered Material Arresting System (EMAS) southwestward of the Runway 11 threshold. The EMAS installation includes constructing an asphalt pad 4 inches thick, with a cement treated base section 9 inches in depth over 8 inches of lime stabilized subgrade, constructing a concrete grade beam, placing EMAS blocks supplied by the Owner, and applying markings to the block’s surface.

Added Addendum 3. A discrepancy in the Bid Schedule distributed with Addendum 2 was identified. Except in cases of emergency, the Louisiana Public Bid Law does not permit the issuance of addendum in less than 72 hours of the advertised bid opening time without a postponement of the bid. Accordingly, Addendum 3, corrects the discrepancy and postpones the bid date by seven days. The new bid opening date and time are as follows. Other particulars relating to the bid opening remain the same.
