PUBLIC NOTICE
The St. Landry Parish Sheriff will be accepting bids on behalf of the St. Landry Parish Law Enforcement District on a stationary emergency standby generator to serve the St. Landry Parish Administrative Office Complex located at 1592 E. Prudhomme Lane, Opelousas, La. The generator shall be rated for 150 kW / 120/208 volts, at 1800 engine RPM. Power delivered shall be three (3) phase at 60 Hertz utilizing a four wire hookup, with nominal ratings of 150 kW and 187.5 kVA at @ .8 p.f. The alternator shall provide a minimum of 433 SKVA at an instantaneous voltage dip of 30%. Sustained voltage dip is not acceptable. The generator shall be powered by a natural gas fueled, EPA certified eight cylinder, four cycle, water cooled, commercial grade engine. The weather protective housing enclosure to be provided shall have a 150 mph wind load rating with critical type exhaust, stainless steel flex connector, and rain cap mounted. Sound measurements of the unit operating at normal loads shall not exceed 77 DBA units at a distance of seven (7) meters. The price quoted shall be FOB at the address noted and shall include a minimum one year warranty on parts and labor, starting battery, cables and charger, mainline circuit breaker, engine and generator meters, 1500 watt engine block heater, remote annunciator and stop switch, oil and coolant, and installation as prescribed in the complete list of specifications. Field testing and system checkout shall also be provided in the bid price. The foregoing specifications are only a summary of the complete specifications. SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS: Bidder must state brand names and attach complete specifications describing the unit being offered and the installation process. Such specifications shall be considered a part of the proposal. The price quoted shall be FOB at 1592 E. Prudhomme Lane, Opelousas, La. The proposal must be signed in ink and either mailed by registered or certified mail or hand delivered to the Sheriff’s agent by 1:30 PM October 6, 2014, at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read. The bid proposal shall be submitted in a sealed envelope marked on the front “SHERIFF’S OFFICE GENERATOR BID”. The address of the Sheriff’s agent in this matter is as follows:

NO BIDS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNLESS ALL REQUESTED DOCUMENTATION IS ATTACHED. DELIVERY MUST BE PROVIDED WITHIN 60 DAYS OF ACCEPTANCE OF THE BID. BIDS WILL BE TAKEN UNDER ADVISEMENT AT THE TIME OF OPENING, AND THE SHERIFF RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ACCEPT THE BEST AND LOWEST BID COMMENSURATE WITH THE NEEDS OF THE FACILITY AND TO REJECT ANY AND ALL BIDS IF NONE MEET TECHNICAL AND BUDGETARY CONSTRAINTS.
