NOTICE is hereby given that the Rankin County Board of Supervisors (herein called the Owner) will receive paper, written, sealed bids at their board room located at 211 East Government Street, Suite A, Brandon, MS 39042 or electronic bids submitted via www.centralbidding.com until the hour of 10:00 AM on Friday, August 12th, 2022 at which time and place the Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all labor and materials and for the construction of that certain project designated as:
 
Vernon Jones Avenue Drainage & Roadway Improvements
 
Official Drawings and Specifications are available for downloaded from Central Bidding at www.centralbidding.com or for public viewing at the office of Benchmark Engineering & Surveying, LLC, 660 Katherine Dr., Suite 302.  For questions related to the electronic bidding process, please call Central Bidding at 225-810-4814.  Hard copies of the documents may be obtained via request to [email protected] for a cost of $100, none of which is refundable.
 
The project scope is to add culverts under Vernon Jones Ave, raise the grade of the roadway in this area and widen a short section of the roadway.  The work required will include but not be limited to: removal of existing pavement, earthwork, storm drain, roadway widening, traffic control, asphalt paving, and all other work required as shown on the Construction Plans and in the Specifications.
 
A Pre-Bid Conference will be conducted on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. local time in the Board Room of the Rankin County Board of Supervisors at the above listed address.  Attendance by a principal, project manager or estimator of any prospective bidder is recommended but not required.
 
The total Contract Time will be 90 consecutive calendar days with liquidated damages at $500.00 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.
 
Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany each bid in accordance with the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.
 
No prospective CONTRACTOR may withdraw his proposal within SIXTY (60) DAYS after the actual date of the opening thereof.
 
The Rankin County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to waive any information or irregularities or to reject any or all bids.
 
Award will be made to lowest and best bidder as determined by the Owner.
