NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi, will receive written sealed bids until the hour of __9:00am_____ local time on _Monday, December 4, 2023_____________________, in the City Clerk’s Office located at 1401 Walnut Street, Suite 212, Vicksburg, MS 39180 for the furnishing of all labor and materials, and for performing all activities specified in the Contract Documents, for the construction of the 2023 Roadway Overlay Improvements.  Bidders are cautioned that the City Clerk Office does not receive the daily U.S. Mail on or before 9:00 am. Bids will be time-stamped upon receipt according to the City Clerk’s time clock.
 
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at __10:00am_____ local time, on __Monday, November 27, 2023, in the City Hall Council Room, Suite 200, located at 1401 Walnut Street, Vicksburg, MS.
 
The project includes the Asphalt overlay of existing roads; mixing, shaping, compacting. The Contract Time will be Forty-Five (45) consecutive calendar days, and the liquidated damages will be $300 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.
 
Plans, contract documents and proposal forms are on file for public inspection in the office of the City of Vicksburg, 1401 Walnut Street, Vicksburg, MS, and in the office of the Engineer, WGK, Inc., 204 W. Leake St., Clinton, MS 39056 (601-925-4444).  All documents required for bidding purposes, including specifications and plans, may be downloaded at www.centralbidding.com  for a non-refundable charge of $50.
Bids for this work will be accepted only under the name of the Bidder to whom the Contract Documents and Addenda, if any, have been issued by the Engineer.  Bids received by bidders to whom the Contract Documents were not issued by the Engineer will be returned unopened.
 
State law requires a non-resident bidder to attach/include a copy of his resident state’s current law pertaining to such state’s treatment of non-resident contractors with their bid. Any bid submitted by a non-resident contractor which does not include the non-resident contractor’s current state law shall be rejected and not considered for award.
 
All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the hour of _10:00am_______ local time on Monday, December 4, 2023, in the Board Room inside the Robert M. Walker Building located at 1415 Walnut Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180. Bids will be considered by the City of Vicksburg at or before the next regular meeting thereof to be held within thirty (30) days of the date of receipt of bids.
 
The City of Vicksburg reserves the right to waive any and all informalities in the bidding and to reject any and all bids.
