Sealed Bids for construction of the New Vicksburg Animal Shelter for the City of Vicksburg, MS,
will be received, by The City of Vicksburg, Mississippi, at the office of the City Hall, 1401
Walnut Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180, until 9:00 A.M., local time, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at
which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at
10:00 A.M. at the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
The Bidding Documents may be examined free of charge at the office of the Owner at City Hall, 1401
Walnut Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180. The Bidding Documents may be obtained electronically on or
after November 29, 2022, at www.centralbidding.com.
Bids may be submitted in person, by mail or electronically. For delivery in person or by mail, the
Bid must be enclosed in a sealed envelope and plainly marked on the outside of the envelope as
follows: Bid for the City of Vicksburg, MS, New Animal Shelter, to be opened at a time and date to
be determined, Bidders Company Name, Bidder's Address, Telephone Number and email address, and
Mississippi State Contractor's License Number(s). All Bids should be addressed to the City of
Vicksburg, 1401 Walnut St, Vicksburg, MS 39180, Attn: Jeff Richardson, Community Development
Director. The Owner and Architect assume no responsibility for the premature opening of any bid
envelope which is not properly marked. Bidders are cautioned that the City Clerk does not receive
the daily U.S. Mail on or before 9:00 A.M. Bids will be time-stamped upon receipt according to the
City Clerk’s time clock.
For electronic delivery, Bids must be submitted at www.centralbidding.com. All electronic Bids must
be submitted in portable electronic format (PDF) and must contain the same information, forms and
Bid Security as required for paper Bids.
A pre-bid meeting will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., local time on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 by
telephone/internet via “Go-To-Meeting”. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged
but is not mandatory. Bidders must visit the site to familiarize themselves with the existing
conditions. Bidders must contact Jeff Richardson to make an appointment by emailing

Bid Security in the amount of five (5) percent of the maximum total bid amount is required. No
bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 calendar days after the actual date of opening. The Owner
reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any and all bids.
Bidders must be properly licensed under the applicable laws of the State of Mississippi for the
type of Work required for the Project and must be able to obtain insurance and bonds, as described
in the Bidding Documents.
