ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Pointe Coupee Parish Police Jury (herein referred to as the "Contracting Agency") hereby solicits sealed bids for the False River Ecosystem Restoration ? Phase I South Flats project described as follows:
Base Bid: Construction of an earthen containment dike within False River, hydraulic
dredging, dewatering, shoreline hardening and vegetative planting.
Additive Alternate No. 1: Additional hydraulic dredging.
Additive Alternate No. 2: Additional hydraulic dredging.
Additive Alternate No. 3: Additional hydraulic dredging.

Sealed Bids shall be addressed to the Pointe Coupee Parish Police Jury, and delivered to the Police Jury Office located at 160 East Main Street, New Roads, Louisiana 70760 not later than 2:00 p.m., on the 6th day of August , 2014. Any bid received after the specified time and date will not be considered. The sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on the 6th day of August, 2014, in the Police Jury Meeting Room at the Pointe Coupee Police Jury Office located at 160 East Main Street, New Roads, Louisiana 70760.

A PRE-BID CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD:

Attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference is not mandatory in order to bid on the project; however, bidders are encouraged to attend. It is the responsibility of all potential bidders to visit the job site to assess the location and conditions prior to bidding.

The Information for Bidders, Bid Form, Form of Contract, Plans, Specifications, and Forms of Bid Bond, Performance Bond and Payment Bond, and other contract documents may be examined at the Office of the Engineer for the contract; Professional Engineering Consultants Corp. located at 7600 Innovation Park Drive, Baton Rouge, La 70820; (225-769-2810). Copies shall be obtained at this office upon payment of a deposit of $100.00. This deposit will be refunded upon request in accordance with R.S. 38:2212. Validation of the Contractor?s license and classifications will be made prior to release of bid documents.

Pursuant to Louisiana Revised Statutes 38:2212(A)(1)(F) and 38:2212.(B)(4), vendors/contractors now havethe option to submit their bids and bid bonds, electronically. Details may be viewed and electronic bids are accepted on the Central Bidding website at www.centralauctionhouse.com.
Contractors submitting bids shall be licensed under LA License R.S. 37:2150-2164, Heavy Construction and/or Dredging. Other license classifications may, at the option of the Contracting Agency, be considered based upon a thorough review of the Contractor?s past experience. The bidder shall show his license number on the bid and on the sealed envelope submitting the bid.

The Contracting Agency reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause; such actions will be in accordance with Title 38 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes. In accordance with R.S. 38:2212 (A)(1)(b), the provisions and requirements stated in the Advertisement for Bids and those required on the Bid Form shall not be considered as informalities and shall not be waived. Each Bidder must deposit with his/her bid, security in the amount of at least five percent (5%) of the total bid price, provided on the specified form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders.
Sureties used for obtaining bonds must appear as acceptable on the U. S. Department of Treasury Circular 570.
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
