NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS:
Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Supervisors of Lauderdale County, Mississippi at the Lauderdale County Courthouse, Meridian, Mississippi, until 10:00 a.m. on the 14th day of December, 2018 and shortly thereafter publicly opened for the construction of 0.1 miles of BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION on the VIMVILLE-CAUSEYVILLE ROAD being known as Project No. 38-5-1(BR), Lauderdale County Bid No. 3841 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. Contractors have the option of submitting bids either electronically by Central Bidding, www.centralbidding.com or paper sealed bids addressed and delivered to the Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors, at the time and date noted above.
Principal items of work involve removing existing precast concrete bridge and constructing a new 1@31’, 1@60’ and 1@31’ prestressed concrete beam bridge over the M & B Railroad. This project shall be constructed in accordance with the latest edition of the Mississippi Standard Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction.
BASIS OF AWARD:
The award, if made, will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of the bid proposal.
The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or national origin in consideration for an award.
PLANS AND PROPOSALS may be secured from Terrell W. Temple, Engineer for Lauderdale County, Mississippi, 1724-B 23rd Avenue, Meridian, MS 39301. The cost is twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for the plans and twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for the proposal, non-refundable.
Certified check or bid bond for five percent (5%) of the total bid, made payable to Lauderdale County must accompany each proposal.
Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such proposal will not be considered in making the award.
