Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the Nation's leader in wetland conservation, is seeking bids for the J.D. Murphree WMA Compartment 13 Rock Breakwater Project. We are having a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting and site showing to interested contractors from our bidders list at 9:30 a.m. on May 18th, 2023. We will meet at the West Port Arthur Bridge boat ramp located south of 2650 South Gulfway Dr, Port Arthur, TX 77640 (29°49'27.54"N; 93°57'52.29"W). Contractors in attendance should plan to bring their own transportation to get to the project site approximately 3.25 miles west down the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway from the boat ramp. If requested, Ducks Unlimited will centerline stake the proposed breakwater on 500 foot intervals prior to the pre-construction meeting to help facilitate contractor inspection.
The work on this project consists of the supply and installation of up to 2,626 linear feet (6,864 tons) of rock breakwater in the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway located approximately 4.0 miles southwest of Port Arthur in Jefferson County, Texas. This work shall also include performing the necessary mobilization, day beacon installation, and other items outlined in the plans and specifications or associated with constructing the project according to the plans. The Contractor shall be responsible for any necessary pollution control measures. This work shall also include performing the necessary fill, necessary excavation, necessary site preparation and other items outlined in the plans or associated with constructing the project according to the plans. The unit price bid for the project shall be payment in full for supplying all materials, equipment, labor and any other necessary incidental items necessary for performing all operations described herein. Contractors shall submit proposed construction schedules with their documents.
