GENERAL CONDITIONS
 
 
            The Tangipahoa Parish School System will accept a lump sum sealed bid at its office, 59656 Puleston Road, Amite, Louisiana, 70422 or online at www.centralauctionhouse.com for the sale of timber.  The property is located as described above in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana.
 
            The Tangipahoa Parish School System reserves the right to reject any and all bids, adjust quantities by increasing or decreasing, and to waive any and all informalities.
           
Bids are to be submitted on the enclosed bid form (page 4).
 
Bids may be submitted online at www.centralauctionhouse.com for a fee paid to the website. Any bid not submitted on-line shall be sealed and mailed special delivery, certified, return receipt, or hand delivered to the Tangipahoa Parish School System Office, 59656 Puleston Road, Amite, Louisiana, 70422, Attn: Purchasing Department, and a receipt obtained. Any bid mailed that is not certified shall be returned to the vendor unopened.  UPS and Federal Express are acceptable means of delivery. No telephone or fax bids will be accepted.  Please indicate, “Bid # 2024-10 Sale of Timber - Pay as Cut” on your bid envelope. All bids will be kept confidential until the time of the bid opening. 
 
            All bids arriving after the above stated date and hour will be returned to the bidders unopened, as well as bids that are not mailed certified – return receipt. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least thirty (30) days.

TIMBER SALE INFORMATION 
 
Location: TPSS, SECTION 16, T1S, R 7 E,  T 4 S, R 8E,BLOCK B, F, G, I, J Approximately 410 Acres TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LOUISIANA
 
 
Timber Designated for Sale:  Thinning of Timber 410 Approximate Acreage.  Residual Spacing for first thin 160 TPA, 2nd thin 100 TPA
 
Bond: No bond required
 

 
 
ADDITIONAL TIMBER SALE PROVISIONS
 
 
~ The sellers designate Advanced Forestry, LLC as their representatives in inspection of timber harvesting and any necessary restoration following removal of the timber designated for sale.
 
~The buyer will have until December 31,2025 to harvest and remove the timber purchased.
 
~Location of loading ramps will be agreed upon between the buyer and seller and their representative prior to harvesting of the purchased timber, utilizing existing openings and woods roads where possible.
 
~Logging will be conducted in accordance with Louisiana’s Best Management Practices, as will any required restoration work, including construction of water bars and seeding on major skid trails and haul roads where necessary to prevent erosion.  All trash and containers will be removed from the property immediately upon completion of logging.
 
~The sellers’ representative shall be notified at least two days prior to commencement of logging operations and shall have authority to halt logging in the event ground conditions are such that permanent soil compaction or rutting is likely if logging continues.  Equal time will be added to the contract for time lost as a result of logging being stopped by the sellers or their representative.
 
~The sellers or their representative shall not be held liable for any damage or injury that occurs as a result of actions of the buyer or contractors of the buyer.
 
~The buyer shall be responsible for payment of any applicable severance taxes.
 
~The seller reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
 
~The warranty timber deed will be prepared and furnished by the buyer.
 
~Line trees are not to be cut, whether painted, blazed or flagged, along property boundaries.
 
~Sample contract can be provided upon request.
