Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the Nation's leader in wetland conservation, is seeking bids for a project located in Accomack County on the eastern shore of VA.  We will hold a prebid meeting on site:
 
October 9th. 2024 at 10:30 a.m.
 
 
Directions from the Eastern Shore of Virginia.  From VA Hwy 13, turn east onto VA Hwy 175 toward Chincoteague and follow for about 11 miles, go over bridge, continue straight (road turns into Maddox Blvd; VA Hwy 2113), continue one mile, go through the traffic circle, continue for another 1.5 miles, (road becomes Beach Drive) you will go through another traffic circle and come to the gate.  Go through the gate and after 0.5 miles turn left into the parking lot for the Herbert H. Bateman Educational and Administrative Center.  We will meet in the parking lot.

The project is the second phase of wetlands improvements and includes the Assateague Channel Marsh Restoration, leveling and restoration of a site with approximately 16,000 cy of imported fill, half of which is to be imported from offsite borrow area and half provided by winning bidder and imported and spread onsite, 7.64 acres of planting and additional erosion control and drainage improvements as outlined in the construction plans and specifications. 
 
A prebid meeting was held previously at this site prior to separation into two phases.  We are bidding out Phase 2 on an abbreviated schedule and offering another chance to see the site at this meeting.
