ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Port of Iberia / Bayou Companies Improvements

Iberia Parish, Louisiana

Notice is hereby given that sealed Bids will be received by the, Port of Iberia, Iberia Parish, Louisiana, for the construction of the Port of Iberia / Bayou Companies Improvements that includes Removal of Existing Drainage Structures, Installation of New Drainage Structures, Installation of Chain Link Fencing and Gates, Reconditioning of Existing Rail Spur, Installation of Concrete Parking Area, Reconditioning of Existing Staging Area, and other work in connection therewith.

Bids will be on a unit price basis; segregated Bids will not be accepted.

Sealed Bids will be received by the Port of Iberia Board of Commissioners until 10:00 a.m. local time on Thursday, December 17, 2015 in the Office of the Port of Iberia (POI) Board of Commissioners at the Port Administration Offices, 4611 South Lewis Street, New Iberia La. 70560. Bids received after this time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud after the specified closing time.

Complete printed sets of the Bidding Documents may be obtained at the Engineer's office (Berard, Habetz and Associates, Inc., 3401 West Admiral Doyle Drive, New Iberia, LA) in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders upon payment of a deposit of $100.00 for each set of documents.

Complete electronic sets of the Bidding Documents may be obtained at the Engineer's office in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders without charge and without deposit.  Plan holders using electronic sets of the Bidding Documents obtained at the Engineer’s office are responsible for their own reproduction cost.

A Pre-Bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Port Administration Offices, 4611 South Lewis Street, New Iberia La. 70560.  Representatives of Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the Project. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend and participate in the conference.

To qualify to bid, each bidder shall be a properly licensed Contractor in accordance with Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2150-2163 for the classification of;

            Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction and Heavy Construction or;

Hold sub-classifications of Driveways, Parking Areas, Etc. and Permanent or Paved Highways and Streets (Asphalt Surface Treatment) and Fencing and Railroad along with one of the following;

Highway and Street Subsurface Drainage and Sewer Work or Culverts and Drainage Structures or Pipe Work (Storm Drains). 

The Contractor shall show his license number on the bid form and on the envelope containing his Bid.

Bidding Documents shall not be issued later than 24 hours prior to the hour and date set for the opening of Bids. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Engineer.

Each Bid shall be accompanied by Bid security made payable to the Port of Iberia, in an amount of at least five (5%) percent of the Bidder's maximum Bid price and in the form of a Certified Check or a Bid Bond in accordance with LA R.S. 38:2218. This check or Bid Bond shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder will execute the Agreement, should it be awarded to him.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids for just cause. In accordance with LA R.S. 38:2212(B)(1), the provisions and requirements of LA R.S. 38:2212, and those stated in the bidding documents shall not be waived by any public entity.
