PUMP STATION IMPROVEMENTS
Iberia Parish, Louisiana
 
            Notice is hereby given that sealed Bids will be received by the Squirrel Run Levee & Drainage District
, Iberia Parish, Louisiana, for the Pump Station Improvements project.  The project consists of upgrading/relocating electrical service to pump station and reconstruction pump support and access platform.
            Bids will be on a Unit Price Basis; segregated Bids will not be accepted.
            Bids will be received by the Squirrel Run Levee & Drainage District, until 10:00 AM Central Time on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Berard, Habetz & Associates, Inc, 3401 West Admiral Doyle Dr, New Iberia, Louisiana, 70560, Louisiana.  Bids received after this date and time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened.  Acceptable bids will be opened and publicly read aloud, along with the Engineer’s construction cost estimate, after the specified closing time.
            Complete sets of the Bidding Documents may be obtained at the Engineer's office (Berard, Habetz, and Associates, Inc., 3401 West Admiral Doyle Drive, New Iberia, LA 70560) in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders upon payment of a deposit of $150.00 for each set of documents. CDs of the Bidding Documents are available upon payment of $20.00 for each.
            A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 11:00 A.M. Central Time on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the Office of Berard, Habetz & Associates, Inc, Conference Room, 3401 West Admiral Doyle Dr, New Iberia, Louisiana, 70560.  Representatives of Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the Project. 
To qualify to bid, each bidder shall be a properly licensed Contractor in accordance with Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2150-2163 for the classification of Heavy Construction.  Contractors desiring to bid shall submit evidence that they hold license of proper classification in full force and effect at the time the bidding documents are requested from the office of the Engineers.  The Contractor shall show his license number on the bid form and on the envelope containing his Bid.
            Bidding Documents shall not be issued later than 24 hours prior to the hour and date set for the opening of Bids.  Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Engineer.
            Each Bid shall be accompanied by Bid security made payable to the Iberia Parish Government, in an amount of at least five percent of the Bidder's maximum Bid price and in the form of a certified check or a Bid Bond in accordance with LA R.S. 2218.  This check or Bid Bond shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder will execute the Agreement, should it be awarded to him.
            The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids for just cause.  In accordance with LA R.S. 38:2212(A)(1)(b), the provisions and requirements of this Section, those stated in the advertisement for bids, and those required on the bid form shall not be considered as informalities and shall not be waived by any public entity.
            The Owner also reserves the right to select and reduce quantities of the work to maintain the project within budget.
