Sealed bids will be received on July 23, 2024 by the Grand Isle Independent Levee District (GIILD), at the Grand Isle Independent Levee District located at 170 Ludwig Lane, in Grand Isle, Louisiana until 2:00 P.M.  All bids will be publicly open and read aloud upon completion of administrative tasks at the Grand Isle Multiplex Center, 3101 Hwy 1, Grand Isle, LA 70358 after 2:00 PM on July 23, 2024.
 
Bid documents are posted on Central Bidding. To view these, download, and receive bid notices by e-mail, you must register with Central Bidding. Vendors/Contractors have the option to submit their bids electronically or by paper copy. Each bid shall be either hand delivered by the bidder or his agent, or such bid shall be sent by United States Postal Service registered or certified mail with a return receipt requested, or shall be submitted electronically with Central Bidding. Bids shall not be accepted or taken, including receiving any hand delivered bids, on days which are recognized as holidays by the United States Postal Service.

No bid received after the scheduled time for opening will be considered.  Failure of the U.S. Mail to deliver the bids timely shall not be considered due cause for the scheduled time of the bid opening to be extended.
 
Project Name:     Drainage Pumping Station – Town of Grand Isle (Vicinity of Orange Lane)         
 
Project Description:  The work under this contract consists of the construction of a new stormwater drainage pump station, with related pumping equipment, motors, discharge piping, and intake suction basin receiving storm water drainage at the project site. The pump station structure shall be constructed of a timber platform on driven timber piling with a suction basin below. The work also includes excavation of a new drainage ditch along Orleans Avenue directing flow into the new suction basin as well excavation and reshaping of an existing drainage ditch along Orange Lane at the outfall into the new suction basin. The work includes procurement and installation of specified equipment. Also, including pickup, delivery to project site and installation of Owner Furnished 24” propeller pump, motor and other related equipment. There is one Additive Alternate for this project which includes the acquisition and complete installation of a free-standing awning (pump station canopy).
 
Bids must be submitted on the Louisiana Uniform Public Works Bid Form furnished with the Bidding Documents. A single set of Bidding Documents shall be issued at the cost of reproduction to contractors who are licensed by the Licensing Board of Contractors.   
 
This Project shall require a Louisiana Contractors license number for one of the following: Heavy Construction.

Deposit on the first set of documents furnished bona fide prime bidders will be fully refunded upon return of documents in good condition no later than ten (10) days after receipts of bids.
 
A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on July 9, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grand Isle Multiplex Center, located at 3101 Hwy 1 in Grand Isle, Louisiana.
 
The Grand Isle Independent Levee District reserves the right to reject any and all bids in accordance with Louisiana State Bid Law.
