NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
 
MARION COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY-WIDE PAVING PROJECT
MARION COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI
 
Sealed bids for the County-Wide Paving Project for the Marion County Board Of Supervisors in Marion County, Mississippi, will be received by the Marion County Board of Supervisors, Mississippi, until 10:00 AM local time on March 16, 2020, at the Board Room located at 215 Broad Street, Columbia, MS  39429, and shortly thereafter will be opened and publicly read.
 
The work involved in the project includes surface preparation, base repairs, leveling, and overlay of various sites in Marion County, Mississippi.  The materials shall meet the requirements of the plans and contract documents, as well as, the Standard Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction. 
 
Plans and Contract Documents are on file in the office of the Marion County Board of Supervisors, Columbia, Mississippi.  Plans and proposals may be secured upon payment of $100.00, which is not refundable, from the office of Dungan Engineering, P.A., 1574 Highway 98 East, Columbia, Mississippi 39429.  Bidders choosing to submit electronically are required to contact the Marion County Board of Supervisors at 601-736-7382 for information regarding electronic bidding requirements.
 
Bidders shall bid and the award, if made, will be made to the lowest, qualified bidder on the basis of published quantities.  However, the Marion County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
 
A bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid will be required. The bid bond or certified check will be returned immediately to unsuccessful bidders. Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such proposals will not be considered in making the award.
 
A performance bond, or equal, in the full amount of the contract will be required of the successful bidder.   In lieu of a performance bond the successful bidder may post with the Marion County Board of Supervisors, the full amount of the bid, in cash or its equivalent, conditioned for the prompt, proper and efficient performance of the contract; said cash or its equivalent to be held until the successful completion of the project.
 
Attention is called to the fact that contracts exceeding $50,000 require contractors to be licensed under applicable laws of the State of Mississippi and have a certificate of responsibility.
