The work on this project consists of removing an existing timber bulkhead water control structure and replacing it with 2 aluminum flashboard risers with 36’ culverts supplied and installed by the contractor.  Additionally, another structure is to be installed through an existing levee consisting of timber supported vinyl sheet piling, 2 aluminum flashboard risers, and corrugated HDPE pipe supplied by DU.  One structure shall be installed without dewatering (WCS#1), and one wall shall be installed while the site is dewatered (WCS#2).  The Contractor shall be responsible for any necessary pollution control measures.  The unit price bid for the project shall be payment in full for supplying all materials, equipment, labor and any other necessary incidental items necessary for performing all operations described herein.  Contract completion time is 75 calendar days. 

Additional Notes/Requirements

We are having a MANDATORY pre-bid meeting and site showing to interested contractors from our bidders list at 11:00AM on March 22, 2023. We will meet at the Hwy 11 boat launch. It is located on the west side of Hwy 11, approximately 2.5 miles south of the Hwy 11/Irish Channel exit off of I-10. Please see the attached vicinity map or Sheet 3 of the plans. USFWS will shuttle contractors to WCS #1 for any investigative efforts requested. Please bring your own personal flotation device.
