NOTICE TO PUBLIC: HUNTING & FISHING LEASE
The Morehouse Parish School Board is now receiving bids for the lease of a “sixteenth” land section for hunting and fishing. The minimum bid per acre is five dollars ($5.00). The successful bidder will be required to pay an additional $500 for the cost of advertising and preparation and recording of the lease. Also, the successful bidder must furnish a certificate of liability insurance. Legal descriptions of the land, bid specifications, and bid forms are available at the Morehouse Parish School Board Office.
The property being leased is that portion owned by the Morehouse Parish School Board and situated in Morehouse Parish as follows:
Section 16, Township 21 North, Range 8 East - approximately 638 acres (hunting)
Section 16, Township 23 North, Range 6 East – approximately 48 acres (hunting)
Section 33, Township 22 North, Range 6 East – approximately 108 acres (hunting)
The lease will be for a period of five years in duration, commencing July 1, 2016. Rent must be paid in full by the first business day of June each year the lease is in effect, except the first year which must be paid upon execution of the lease. The sample lease which must be executed by the successful bidder is available at the office of the Morehouse Parish School Board and will be provided upon request.
All bids will be accepted only on official bid forms that can be obtained from the office of the Morehouse Parish School Board or online at www.centralbidding.com. All bids shall be in the form of a yearly cash payment amount. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check in the amount equal to one year’s lease payment, which will be returned if the bid is not accepted.
Bids will be accepted from Louisiana corporations or other legal entities in good standing with the Secretary of State or from individuals. Any entity submitting a bid must also submit with it a copy of its filed articles of organization.
Bids will be received in the office of the Morehouse Parish School Board at 4099 Naff Street, Bastrop, Louisiana, until 2:00 p.m. on March 8, 2015. Bids must be hand delivered or sent by certified mail. The bids will be opened publicly at 2:00 p.m.
The School Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive all informalities.
