1. The plans show the pre-cast concrete panels for the rail crossing to start at Sta. 25+02.22 and end at Sta. 26+61.12 on plan sheet #5. This is 158.9 TF. The standard pre-cast concrete panels come in lengths of 8.125’ and this distance would require 20 sets of pre-cast panels or a total of 162.5 TF. Please confirm and indicate if the bid qty will be revised to the 162.50 TF from the 185 LF stated on the bid form. 2. Please confirm that all the existing ties beneath the proposed rail crossing are to be changed to new 7”x9”x10’ timber ties. 3. Please confirm that new ballast will be supplied by the contractor to achieve the plan grades for rail crossing. 4. Please confirm that that the existing rail and OTM is to remain/reuse. 5. What is the size of the existing rail? 6. Is jointed rail allowed in the crossing or does the rail need to be welding through the entire crossing? 7. Is it expected for the rail contractor to tamp and line the crossing prior to placement of the pre-cast panels?

Will Additional Ballast to raise the grade be incidental to the panel work or will an additional item be created for Ballast?
