Sealed bids for the construction of
Career Tech Building Renovations
Southwest Mississippi Community College
Summit, Mississippi

will be received at the office of the President in the Administration Building, 1156 College Drive, Summit, Mississippi until 10:00 a.m., C.D.T.,Thursday, March 27, 2025 and thereafter opened and publicly read.  One contract will include all work.
Bids shall be submitted on the form furnished by the Architect and must be accompanied by Bid Bond or certified check for at least five percent (5%) of the base bid payable to Southwest Mississippi Community College.  No bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after the actual date of the bid opening.
All bids must comply with applicable state laws of the State of Mississippi and shall include Contractor's Certificate of Responsibility Number. Each Bidder shall write his Certificate of Responsibility Number on the outside of the sealed envelope containing his proposal.  A performance and payment bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract sum will be required of the successful bidder.  In addition to the required bonds, the contractor must also supply general liability insurance for coverage in the amount not less than $1 million within 25 days of the awarded contract.
Awarding public contracts to non-resident Bidders will be on the same basis as the non-resident bidder’s state awards contracts to Mississippi Contractors bidding under similar circumstances.  In order to ensure that Mississippi’s so-called Golden Rule is followed, state law requires a non-resident bidder to attach to his bid a copy of his resident state’s current laws pertaining to such state’s treatment of non-resident contractors. 
Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate, sealed and deposited with Southwest Mississippi Community College prior to the hour and date hereinbefore designated.  Bidder’s name and address should be written on the outside of the sealed envelope and “Career Tech Renovations, Southwest Mississippi Community College, Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.” should be printed in the lower left corner of the envelope.
The Owner reserves the right to waive any and/or all formalities or to reject any and/or all bids submitted.
