This project consists of the replacement of approx 165 Squares of existing SBS flat built-up roofing, on 2 different roof levels, together with associated work at St Mary Parish Alternative School in Verdunville at address.  The work will be bid in a Base Bid and an Additive Alternate Bid.  The Project entails replacement of the existing roofing systems, complete with accessories and all associated work to make a watertight roofing system.   The existing roofing generally consists of one layer of built-up roofing systems over 3” T & G Tectum Structural Acoustic Roof decking.  The Work generally includes the removal of all existing roof systems and coatings down to the original decking to the greatest extent possible and replaced with a new roofing system. All metal flashing, metal fascia, cant strips, and drip edges are to be removed, replaced, or modified as noted in the drawings.  The Work also includes removal and infill of openings at box enclosures for previously removed equipment, previously removed skylights, and other items that are no longer in use, which may also entail minor repainting of associated surfaces.  All removed materials and debris associated with this work shall be disposed of in the Parish Landfill in accordance with all local, state, and national code requirements.  The new roofing system shall be a 2 ply SBS roofing system over 1/8” slope tapered insulation with new flashings and pipe supports as indicated in the drawings and specifications.   The project will be bid with a Base Bid plus one Additive Alternate Bid.  Contractors shall anticipate that the school campus will be occupied during part of the time that the roofing work will be performed.
