ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS – CATH LAB 2 – 6TH FLOOR – EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT [REBID] 

Memorial Hospital at Gulfport will receive Sealed Bids with Qualification Statements until Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 2:00 PM for the furnishing of all labor and material and performing all work necessary and incidental     to BID # 2019-0625, CATH LAB 2 – 6TH FLOOR – EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT, MEMORIAL HOSPITAL        at GULFPORT,  in accordance with plans and specifications. 

SCOPE:    Generally, the scope of work consists of preparing the existing Cath Lab 2 Procedure Room, Equipment Room and Control Room, to receive new equipment, including new finishes within the rooms. All work is complete with all materials, labor, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work, etc. as indicated in the drawings and as specified. 

The above Scope of Work will be performed while areas outside of the limits of the Work are occupied.  Strict conformance to Infection Control guidelines, construction noise abatement, and ability to organize work with flexible hours and manage disruption in continuity of work is vital to the successful completion of the project.  Bidders with proven and demonstrated ability to perform this Scope of Work in these restrictive environments and in a Hospital in the last five (5) years are encouraged to bid on this project. Owner reserves the right to review qualifications of Bidders prior to award of Contract.

Work shall be completed in eighty four (84) calendar days. Liquidated damages of One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00) per day shall apply for non-compliance. A Performance and Payment Bond will be required of the successful bidder.

Printed copies are not available from the Architect, but arrangements can be made to obtain them through most reprographic firms.  Plan holders are responsible for their own reproduction costs. 

Bids submitted by mail must be addressed to:  Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, P.O. Box 1810, Gulfport, MS 39502,  Attention:  Greg Quigley, Director of Engineering, Engineering Department. 

Bids hand delivered before 1:45 p.m. on bid date shall be delivered to the office of Greg Quigley, Director of Engineering, Engineering Department, Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, 4500 13TH Street, Gulfport, MS 39501.   

Bids hand delivered between 1:45 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on bid date shall be delivered to the Large Engineering Conference Room on the Second Floor at Memorial Hospital. 

All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at MEMORIAL HOSPITAL at GULFPORT, LARGE ENGINEERING CONFERENCE ROOM ON THE SECOND FLOOR at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday,                    June 25, 2019.

Instructions to bidders, plans and specifications, and other documents pertaining to construction of this project, may be reviewed only, beginning Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at the following location:

Memorial Hospital at Gulfport – Engineering Department – Call 228-865-3056 to schedule a time to review hardcopy of specifications and plans

(No verbal questions may be asked and will not be  answered.   All bidding questions must be submitted through the Bidding Email: [email protected].)

To assist Bidders during the bid period, one (1) Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit will be held at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, in the Large Engineering Conference Room on the 2nd Floor of MHG, with a walk-through immediately following. Although it is mandatory for General Contractors to attend pre-bid conference, Mechanical and Electrical Subcontractors     who wish to bid the project are encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit. Attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference will be considered compliance to this requirement.  Attendance at Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit is required by all General Contractors bidding on project.

Bid security of five (5%) for the amount of bid shall be submitted with each bid as provided in the Instructions of Bidders. 

Bids shall be submitted in sealed opaque envelopes. Envelopes shall be clearly marked SEALED BID: MEMORIAL HOSPITAL at GULFPORT CATH LAB 2 – 6TH FLOOR – EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT #2019-0625.          

Bidders must indicate Certificate of Responsibility Number on the outside of the sealed proposal.

NOTE:  No Bids (electronically delivered or hand delivered) Shall Be Accepted After 2:00 pm

The Board of Trustees of Memorial Hospital at Gulfport reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive any formality. Attention should be directed to the fact that Memorial Hospital at Gulfport is a publicly owned hospital and subject to Mississippi State Laws related to bidding.  No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after date set for opening thereof.

No bid shall be considered awarded until such time as all contract documents have been signed and received by both parties.
