PUBLIC NOTICE

By virtue of and in conformity with the provisions of Chapter 2, Title 30, Sections 121-136 of the Louisiana Revised Statues of 1950, as amended, and other applicable laws, sealed bids will be received in the Office of the Pointe Coupee Parish Police Jury, 160 East Main Street, Courthouse Annex, New Roads, Louisiana 70760, on or before 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 for a lease to explore, drill for and produce oil, gas and any other liquid or gaseous minerals in solution and produced with oil or gas on the following described tract, said bids to be opened publicly on Monday, July 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the aforesaid location.

Any lease awarded shall be executed upon terms and conditions provided in the current State Agency lease form of the Louisiana Office of Mineral Resources (State Mineral Board) with all applicable riders appended thereto, a copy of which is available for review in the aforesaid Office of the Pointe Coupee Parish Police Jury. Any lease awarded shall further contain a provision that no operations may be conducted on the surface of the leased premises without the further written consent of the Pointe Coupee Parish Police Jury or then current surface owner if not the Police Jury.

Certified check, cashier’s check or bank money order payable to the Pointe Coupee Parish Police Jury for the full amount of the aforesaid Cash Payment bonus shall be submitted with and accompany each bid, and no bid, once submitted, may be thereafter withdrawn or cancelled.

Tract - Township 6 South - Range 7 East

That certain tract or parcel of land containing 24.42 acres, more or less, situated in Sections 17 and 18, Township 6 South, Range 7 East, Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana and measuring one hundred fifty (150) feet in width paralleling the right of way of the New Orleans, Texas and Mexico Railway Company on the south side thereof, and extending from the west boundary line of Section 37 of Township 6 South, Range 7 East, in a westerly direction to the Atchafalaya River, bounded on the north by the right of way of the New Orleans, Texas and Mexico Railway Company; on the east by said Section 37, Township 6 South, Range 7 East; on the south by property of Louis N. Perroux; and on the west by the Atchafalaya River.

Less and Except: That certain tract or parcel of land containing 1.00 acres, more or less, situated in Section 17, Township 6 South, Range 7 East, Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana and being more particularly described in that certain Sale dated November 2, 1936 and recorded in COB K, Entry No. 1050, in the records of Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana. Leaving a balance of 23.42 acres in Section 17 & 18, T6S - R7E.
