The bid openings wil be held at the City of Baker School System School Board Office, located at 14750 Plank Road, Baker, Louisiana 70714 on May 29, 2024. Note that bids must be received and time and date stamped in the City of Baker School System School Board Office or online at www.centralbidding.com before 4:00 pm on May 28, 2024.
The City of Baker School System, Child Nutrition Program si funded approximately 95% with Federal funds for a projected total of approximately $100,250 per year. For this reason, the United States Department of Agriculture requires by law the use of Child Nutrition Funds, to the maximum extent practicable, to "Buy America". The Buy America provision, as defined in section 12(n) of the National School Lunch Act, requires schools to purchase, to the maximum extent practicable, domestic commodities and products. Adomestic commodity or product means an agricultural commodity that is processed ni the United States, and/or a food product that si processed ni the United States substantially using agricultural commodities that are produced in the United States. Purchases made in accordance with the Buy American provision must still follow the applicable procurement rules calling for free and open competition. Any entity that purchases food or food products on behalf of the school food authority (SFA) must follow the same Buy American provisions that the SFA is required to follow.
Specifications wil be available to vendors until 24 hours before the bid opening date. There si no pre-bid conference required. Vendors' attendance is not required at the bid opening.
To be considered as a bidder, the vendor must complete and submit the following either as a hard copy with original signature of the designated authority or electronically signed and submitted along with the bid to be considered:
- A Certification Regarding Debarment, Suspension, Ineligibility, and Voluntary Exclusion
- A Certification Regarding Lobbying
- Certification of Independent Price Determination
- A CN Label or Product Formulation Statement on all processed items on the bid
- A Nutrition Facts Label for each food item on the bid list
