Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the Nation's leader in wetland conservation, is seeking bids for the San Bernard NWR – Black Rail Habitat Enhancements Project.  We are having a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting and site showing to interested contractors from our bidders list at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024. We will meet at the intersection of County Road 23 and County Road 24A, Brazoria County, TX 77534 (29°12'50.69"N; 95°38'7.39"W) near Eagle Nest Lake. Contractors interested in seeing the entirety of the project area should bring an ATV/UTV to facilitate site access.
 
The project base bid generally consists of 32,374 L.F. of rice levee removal, 38,016 C.Y.-P of excavation, 25 C.Y.-P of embankment, 100.0 acres of site disking and 15.0 acres of seeding.
 
This work described as base bid shall also include performing the necessary mobilization, site preparation, clearing and other items outlined in the plans or associated with constructing the project according to the plans. The Contractor shall be responsible for any necessary pollution control measures.
