Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the Nation's leader in wetland conservation, is seeking bids for the McFaddin NWR –
GIWW Shoreline Protection Project. We are having a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site showing to interested
contractors from our bidders list at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9th. We will meet at the existing parking
lot/boat ramp under the Highway 87 bridge in Jefferson County, TX 77990 (29°49'27.20"N; 93°57'52.21"W).
Contractors interested in seeing the project area must bring a boat to facilitate their access.

The work on this project consists of the supply and installation of up to 76,151 linear feet (251,517 tons) of rock
breakwater in the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway located between Sabine Lake and East Galveston Bay. This work
shall also include performing the necessary mobilization, warning beacon installation, and other items outlined in
the plans and specifications or associated with constructing the project according to the plans. The Contractor shall
be responsible for any necessary pollution control measures.  This work shall also include performing the necessary
fill, necessary excavation, necessary site preparation and other items outlined in the plans or associated with
constructing the project according to the plans. The unit price bid for the project shall be payment in full for
supplying all materials, equipment, labor and any other necessary incidental items necessary for performing all
operations described herein. Contractors shall submit proposed construction schedules with their documents. The
maximum period of performance for the base bid contract shall be 365 days. Additional time will be added to the
contract duration should any portion of the alternate bid be awarded.
