INVITATION TO SUBMIT SEALED BIDS
 
Notice is hereby given that Union County will receive sealed bids at the County Purchasing Office at 108 East Main Street, New Albany, Mississippi until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021for the following:
 
Food Service Management Services for the Union County Adult Detention Center. Food service management includes, but is not limited to the furnishing of a dietitian for meal planning, supervision and labor for food service, transportation equipment, food, beverages, materials, and paper supplies necessary to provide food service for the inmates at the Union County Adult Detention Center located at 300 Carter Avenue, New Albany, MS.

The deadline for bids to be received will be 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December16, 2021 and the bids received will be opened at the next Board meeting on Monday, December 20, 2021. Bids may either be mailed to Shellie Kent, Union County Purchase Clerk at P.O. Box 847, New Albany, Mississippi 38652 or hand delivered to 108 East Main Street, New Albany Mississippi. For any questions about submitting your bid or to receive specs you should contact Purchase Clerk Shellie Kent or County Administrator Terry Johnson at 662-534-1903. 
 
Bids that are mailed or hand delivered shall be signed, dated, sealed and on the outside of the envelope marked “Bid for Jail Food Service”.  The County will not be responsible for bids opened in error, which are incorrectly or inadequately marked.
 
You may also submit an electronic bid if you choose by contacting Central Bidding at 1- 225-810-4814. The website for Central bidding is “www.centralbidding.com”.   
 
The Board reserves the right to accept the bid they deem is in the best interest of the county.  The Board of Supervisors will be the final authority in determining the compliance with the specifications. 
 
Union County also reserves the right to reject any and all bids with or without cause. All documents and bid forms required by the specifications shall be submitted in the original bids.  No additions or modifications will be allowed after the bids are opened.
 
Specifications are on file in the offices of the Union County Purchase Clerk and Chancery Clerk.
