NOTICE TO PUBLIC: PROPERTY FOR LEASE
 
The Morehouse Parish School Board is now receiving bids for the lease of a former school site solely for the purposes stated in the bid packet and particularly in section 3 of the contract and lease agreement.  The description of the property to be leased is the following described property situated in the Parish of Morehouse, State of Louisiana, together with all improvements and appurtenances, to wit:
 
The old “East Side Elementary School.”
 
Legal Description
 
“Provided as part of bid packet.”
 

Specifications for bid for purchase
The minimum bid is eight hundred ($800.00) per month.  The successful bidder will be required to pay an additional $500 for the cost of advertising and preparation and recording of the lease.  Also, the successful bidder must furnish a certificate of liability insurance.  Legal descriptions of the land, bid specifications, and bid forms are available at the Morehouse Parish School Board Office.  
 
Rent must be paid in full by the first business day of December each year the lease is in effect, except the first year which must be paid upon execution of the lease.  The sample lease which must be executed by the successful bidder is available at the office of the Morehouse Parish School Board and will be provided upon request.

All bids shall be in the form of a yearly cash payment amount.  Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check in the amount equal to one year’s lease payment, which will be returned if the bid is not accepted. Bids must be delivered to the Morehouse Parish School Board no later than 2:00 P.M., December 1, 2015. Sealed bids that are hand delivered or sent by certified mail must be in an envelope clearly marked: "Bid for Carver School Property." Hand-delivered bids should be brought to the 4099 Naff Street address and bids sent by certified mail should be sent to the P. O. Box 872 address.
 
The Morehouse Parish School Board reserves the right to reject any bid for sale or to accept the highest bid that meets specifications.
